Writing for the Orlando Sentinel , Richard Burnett reports that Apple will put an Apple Store in the Mall at Millenia shopping center that’s coming to Orlando later this year. Burnett’s comments come in an article entitled Millenia to reveal more stores.
Co-developers The Taubman Co. and The Forbes Co. are developing the 1.2 million square foot mall in south Orlando, near the Universal Orlando theme park and International Drive area, according to Burnett. The mall is expected to host 150 stores, including many boutiques, upscale shops and retailers not available in malls elsewhere in the area. It is scheduled to open this October.
Apple was revealed as a tenant for the location, along with Burberry, Gucci, Lacoste, Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and Tommy Bahama. Burnett said that 20 percent of the businesses at the new mall are slated to be “ultra-high-end retailers.”
