Connectix Corp. has released a new version of its Virtual PC for Macintosh software. The new version, 5.0.2, is ready for download from registered users on Connectix’s Web site.
Virtual PC for Macintosh enables Mac users to run PC software by emulating an actual PC-compatible computer and running various flavors of Windows operating system software. The PC emulation software is also, believe it or not, available for Windows.
Changes in Virtual PC 5.0.2 are too extensive to list here in their entirety, but Connectix noted “significant performance enhancements” and other changes to improve the software’s operating under Mac OS X. Networking, printing, serial port emulation, USB device usage and other changes have also been made.
The 10.53MB file is now available for download from Connectix’s Web site, and is suitable for the English language release of Virtual PC 5. Connectix noted that international versions of the emulation software would be available next week.
