Bold by Destineer has announced the release of a new update to Age of Empires II: Gold Edition. The new update, 1.0.4, is ready for download from Bold’s Web site and corrects a number of issues, including a problem associated with the Restore Saved Multiplayer Game feature.
Bold by Destineer’s Age of Empires II: Gold Edition is the Macintosh version of the enormously popular strategy game originally developed for the PC by Ensemble Studios. The game puts you in command and control of a medieval civilization that you must help build and expand. Unlike other civilization-building games, Age of Empires II emphasizes combat elements as you raise armies and machines of war.
Players are now able to save a multiplayer game any time and restart it later. If one of the player’s computers in a multiplayer game crashes or disconnects abruptly from the game, the game will now automatically save on another player’s machines that all players can restart where they left off, according to Bold by Destineer.
In addition to the Restore Saved Multiplayer Game issue, several other enhancements have been made:
The publisher noted the efforts of Westlake Interactive programmers Mark Krenek and Brad Oliver for tracking down and correcting these problems.
