James W. Walker has released a new version of PrintToPDF. The new version, 2.4, is ready for download from his Web site.
PrintToPDF is a shareware Mac printer driver (for Mac OS 9 and lower) that enables users to create Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You don’t need the full version of Acrobat to get it to work.
PrintToPDF enables you to create PDF bookmarks to section and subsection headings, and URLs that will become hot links. The software’s developer admits that PrintToPDF isn’t as powerful as Acrobat is, but it’s cheaper — US$20.
Changes in PrintToPDF 2.4 include Link Maker’s support for a new type of link that opens another PDF and goes to a specific page; improved support for Japanese-style vertical writing; and a FileMaker Pro printing bug fix.
