Agere Systems today announced the ORiNOCO AP-200. It’s a Wi-Fi compatible wireless networking access point equipped with dual 10/100baseT Ethernet ports, and the company said that the device is “optimized for use in small office environments.”
The AP-200 sports microwave oven interference resistance technology, according to Agere. It also features 128-bit encryption and support for ORiNOCO’s WEPplus encryption scheme. Because of the device’s dual Ethernet configuration (similar to Apple’s own AirPort Base Station), Agere noted that the AP-200 is suitable as either a base station or bridge to a wired network.
The AP-200 is configurable through a Web browser management interface. It supports SNMP management, TFTP kernel upload, extended MIBs and embedded Telnet and CLI as well.
The AP-200 carries a list price of US$199.
