REON Corp., a provider of ISP services for businesses in New England, is now offering online data storage solutions aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. Pricing starts at US$30 month per gigabyte of storage.
The REON solution includes RAID (redundant array of independent disks) Level Support, Microsoft network compatibility and support for Macs, Unix, Windows and Linux systems. It automatically backs up data from personal computers, laptops and servers, holding documents, e-mail and other business information to a secure storage site. The information is backed up in several forms to ensure recovery and simple, secure access for business users, according to Barry Fitzpatrick, REON’s chief technical officer.
Customers can access their stored documents through a password-protected Web site that lets them sort, file, copy, retrieve and manage their backed-up documents. The Web site can be accessed anytime from any location.
Such services seem to be blossoming; Xdrive Technologies has added Mac support and EFileDepot has been providing an “Internet hub” for Mac users for two years.
