The US$18 form fitted cover is available in four colors and made of lightweight, coated nylon to cut down on the amount of dust and grime settling on the iMac system over time. After crafting carrying cases for the new iMac, “it made sense to add a dust cover to protect the system for the 95 percent of the time it’s sitting on your desk,” Willow president Nigel Peck told MacCentral.
“It was an Internet contributor who twigged us to the idea; sometimes you get so caught up designing challenging cases like our iMac carry case, that you overlook the obvious,” he said.
The Seabreeze will be covered by Willow’s lifetime guarantee as are Willow’s other 28 cases specifically devoted to Apple laptops, desktops and monitors. This isn’t the first product the company has made for the new iMac, however. Last month Willow released the $207 Flat Panel Wedge carry case to protect the iMac, keyboard, speakers and accessories while they’re in transit.
Everything, including the iMac is separately compartmentalized and protected, with the case, which weighs eight pounds. It has rigid protective external walls, and dividers throughout to separate and protect the flat panel and other components. There are specific compartments for the iMac, speakers, keyboard, two separate accessory compartments and room for lots of cables underneath the back of the iMac.
