With CoolCam, you can set up your mac to upload Webcam images to Web pages. You can specify the interval, add text captions, picture badges, clock stamps, blur items and more.
Changes in CoolCam 2.3 include:
Added schedules. Using the ‘Schedule’ button in the ‘Options’ tab, you can now set up CoolCam to be off all day, on all day, or on between two times (for example from 9 AM to 5 PM). Each day of the week can have its own schedule. For more complex schedules, there is also a custom schedule option which allows you to specify multiple on/off times at 15 minute intervals throughout the day. Added support for dynamic badge items. The image file for a badge item can now be loaded periodically from a URL, allowing you to incorporate weather maps, stock tickers, or any other web-based image into your webcam image. To create a dynamic badge, click ‘New Badge’ or choose ‘New Badge’ from the ‘Items’ menu, then choose ‘Dynamic image from URL’. Enter the URL from which you want to load the image, and specify how often the image should be reloaded. Added support for QuickTime Effects. CoolCam’s ‘Blur’ items are now ‘Effect’ items, allowing you to choose from a variety of effects. The previous blur item effect is still available – simply choose the ‘CoolCam Blur’ effect from the list when creating a new effect item. Added ability to skew badge and caption items. To skew an item, move the cursor over the item’s lower-right corner, hold down the Option key, and drag the skew box which appears in the direction you want to skew the item. To skew the item in steps, hold down the Shift key while skewing the item. Added ‘Clear Transforms’ command to the ‘Items’ menu, which clears any rotate or skew operations that you have performed on a badge or caption item. Added ‘Show Item Borders’ option, which shows each item’s border regardless of the item’s layer. This is useful when you’ve ‘lost’ an item underneath another item. Improved the ‘Snap Dragged Items’ option with the addition of rulers which show which edge the item is currently being snapped to. The refresh interval can now be set to any value between 1 second and 59 seconds in 1 second intervals, 1 minute to 59 minutes in 1 minute intervals, and 1 hour to 24 hours in 1 hour intervals. Fixed a problem where the ‘small arrow’ controls in CoolCam’s ‘Options’ and ‘Items’ tabs would not auto-repeat when CoolCam was running on Mac OS X. Distributed as shareware, CoolCam costs US$20 to register. The software requires Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X.
