Storage peripheral maker Medea Corp. announced today that its VideoRaid RTR and VideoRaid RTRX disk arrays have been qualified by IgniterRT maker Aurora Video Systems. The IgniterRT is a real-time video effects and editing card that works on the Mac.

The Medea VideoRaid products have been developed for digital content creation including 2D and 3D animation, compositing, special effects, game development and non-linear video editing. The arrays feature Ultra160 SCSI interfaces and storage capacities of up to 960GB, scalable to multi-terabyte storage capacities too.
Fully compatible with Mac, SGI, Sun and Windows-based systems, the disk arrays are capable of real-time playback of up to three uncompressed video streams. The architecture features removable disk drive modules, power supplies and RAID controllers.
Five drive VideoRaid RTR systems are available in capacities from 160 to 480GB with prices starting at US$3,899. VideoRaid RTRX systems are available in five and ten drive configurations with capacities from 160GB to 960GB with prices starting at $4,499.
