Deep Sky Technologies, Inc.
has announced the release of the full version of TCP Server Deux. It’s a component for 4th Dimension that provides a TCP level server. The software enables 4D developers to run one or more higher level protocol servers in a single 4D database, without having to code many of the functional elements you’d need to create complicated custom servers.

With TCP Server Deux, 4D developers can develop a server to support multiple protocols like DNS with an integrated Web interface; or a POP/SMTP e-mail server with an HTTP interface. TCP Server Deux handles all of the listeners, threading, multiple processes and communications necessary in a custom server.
TCP Server Deux also incorporates a diagnostic time logger to aid 4th Dimension developers identify the response times of incremental functional units within their 4D based applications. It works with other Deep Sky Technologies, Inc. components, too.
TCP Server Deux requires Internet ToolKit (ITK) v2.0.x and v2.5.x, and it’s fully compatible with 4D v6.8.x. A demo version is available for download.
In other news, TCP Server Deux Professional is also available; it’s the source code version of the TCP Server Deux 4D component.
TCP Server Deux has been released with separate development and deployment licensing ranging from US$95 to $1,295 depending on the configuration. TCP Server Deux Professional application licenses run $395 with 1 year extensions available for $195.
