CirculationPro 3.0 from Baseview — a company that provides software tools for publishing — has been rewritten from the ground up and is will be platform independent when it ships this summer. The application is a circulation management solution.

The update, offers many server options, including Mac OS X, Windows, and Solaris. That server can then be accessed by virtually any computer, using just about any recent Web browser, according to Scott Bray, Baseview’s circulation product manager.
“You can have workstations side by side using different operating systems,” he added.
CirculationPro also allows circulation departments to host multiple publications from a single location. The new version also adds features that should appeal to magazine publishers, such as the ability for one subscriber to have different delivery addresses for different publications. And it lets users have a centralized call center for multiple publications.
A built-in contextual help system “knows” where you are in the application and gives you tips for that specific screen. Bray said that other features and improvements included in or new to CirculationPro 3.0 are:
Other tasks have been cleaned up and better organized, as well, Bray said. For example, CirculationPro 3.0 includes better integration of editions, subscriber taxes and distributor taxes.
