MacHack — the annual “caffeine and code” conference that gathers Mac developers under one roof — announced today that Tim O’Reilly will be this year’s keynote presenter. O’Reilly is the founder of beloved technical publisher O’Reilly & Associates, and has a well-established record of Internet activism.

O’Reilly’s publishing efforts have earned him accolades, and his Global Network Navigator (GNN) site is generally considered to be the first truly commercial site on the Web and the first Web portal. He’s also an open source software advocate, and has organized protests against frivolous software patents.
MacHack takes place in Dearborn, Mi. from June 20-22, 2002. Conference registration costs US$475, including access to all conference events, 3 meals and the conference banquet.
