Canto is now offering the Cumulus ZIP AssetProcessor, a new option for their Cumulus 5.5 archiving system for multimedia data.

The Cumulus ZIP AssetProcessor lets you convert assets cataloged in Cumulus into Zip archives with the click of a button. With this feature, large assets can be compressed within Cumulus and later sent via e-mail at a “considerably faster pace,” said Jennifer Neumann, Canto’s CEO. The ZIP AssetProcessor can also be used in conjunction with Web Publisher, so that e-commerce providers employing Web Publisher can give their visitors the option to download compressed assets.
ZIP AssetProcessor supports MacBinary coding so that Mac specific file information (such as type, creator, resource fork, etc.) isn’t lost during a download. Available as a free download, it’s an option for all Cumulus Editions. ZIP AssetProcessor is currently available in English and German language versions for the Mac, Windows, and UNIX platforms.
