Yellow Dog Linux 2.2 incorporates the 2.4 kernel, improved support for monitors equipped with the Apple Display Connector (ADC), and accelerated video. Screen brightness and volume control buttons are now supported on “NewWorld” ROM-equipped PowerBook and iBook systems. The Gnome graphical user interface has been improved, too.
Terra Soft Solutions CTP Dan Burcaw offers much of the credit for this latest release of Yellow Dog Linux to the open source community.
“While our in-house experience plays a significant role in the maturation of YDL, the unified effort of the community continues to make YDL possible. Many thanks to everyone who worked with us,” said Burcaw.
