Marathon Computer, the folks who have been designing and making rackmount solutions for the Mac since 1997, have announced new slide rail access for racks with only front rails.

Slide rails are a convenient option for equipment racks, allowing users to perform upgrades and maintenance without removing the equipment from the rack cabinet, said Michael Rowland of Marathon. Until now, this option has been limited to those racks that have both front and rear rails.
Now Marathon’s FMOS (Front Mount Only Sliderails) rackmount lets owners of traveling cases, telco and MIDI racks, and others that normally use a front-rail-only system, to take advantage of slide rails. The FMOS is a steel-constructed cantilevered support that works with your existing equipment. The ball-bearing slide rails come pre-installed, ready to pop into any standard 19-inch equipment rack. The slides allow easy access to the inside of G3 or G4 cases, and to the rear cabling, Rowland said.
The FMOS rackmount costs US$175. FMOS and G-Rack are available together at a special Web bundled price of $350. Details and order online can be found at Marathon’s Web site.
