Recosoft Corp. has a new product, VINC 1.0, which brings a new integrated document viewer and converter to the Mac, both the traditional Mac operating system and Mac OS X.

VINC — as in View Navigate & Convert — lets you view and convert files created in different word processing and graphics software, such as Microsoft Word, AppleWorks, HTML, RTF, PNG, JPEG, Photoshop, and more. Plus, VINC supports Japanese-language text contained in documents and retains the integrity of Japanese-language word processing files.
VINC is designed to solve common document exchange problems encountered as a result of cross-platform environments, intranets, and the Internet, according to the folks at Recosoft. With VINC, you can view the text of word processing documents and images of graphics files even if you don’t have the original application in which it was created.
VINC 1.0 costs US$49. Educators can get a discount: $39.94 for a single user, $349 for a 10-pack, and $619 for a 20-pack.
VINC requires a Power Mac G3, System 7.6.1 or higher (8.5 or better is recommended) or Mac OS X.
