“The terms are not necessarily for everyone; but we are finding they are acceptable for some,” he said.
ComputerTown, an Apple Specialist based in “tax-free” New Hampshire, is making a special purchase of the new flat-panel iMacs Hancock said. They’re standard Apple configurations at following prices: 800 MHz G4, 256 MB SDRAM, 60 GB HD, Pro Speakers, SuperDrive: $1,750; 700 MHz G4, 256 MB SDRAM, 40 GB HD, Pro Speakers, combo drive: $1,450; 700 MHz G4, 128 MB SDRAM, 40 GB HD, CD-RW drive: $1,250.
All systems are new and have 256K L2 cache, 10/100 Ethernet, 56k modem, and are AirPort ready. Estimated delivery is six weeks. ComputerTown is taking pre-paid orders only: credit card, check, cash (if local) or Apple Loans. There are limited quantities available.
UPS Ground shipping (insured) is $25; UPS 3-day Select (also insured) is $50. No resellers or distributors can take advantage of the promo. Once the limited quantity of this special purchase has been reached, those orders received afterward will be notified, according to Hancock.
