Still more glowing reviews are coming in for the new flat panel iMac.
Ambrosia Software, the folks behind such popular Mac shareware products as Snapz Pro and games such as Mars Rising, gives the new consumer model a big thumbs up on their Web site. An online review says Apple has done something “truly special” with the new iMac.

The review praises its looks, power and software bundle. It even likes the computer’s packaging, which makes you feel as if you’re opening up something very special.
“The new iMac is fast, the screen is brilliant, and the entire software/hardware bundle is neatly tied together in a package that makes using a computer downright enjoyable,” the review says. “I’ve been using computers for longer than I’d care to admit, and this is absolutely the best machine I’ve ever used. Sure, the dual processor G4 at work is faster, and the Pentium IV Sony box we have at work has a higher MHz rating, but when it comes right down to it, computers are simply tools for enabling people to do things. By that measure, Apple has succeeded beyond anything else you can buy. “
And Darrell Proctor, writing for the Denver Rocky Mountain News , says the new iMac looks “like something straight out of the Jetsons.” He also says it has the “look of the future” and likes the way it saves desktop space.
