The Omni Group has announced the release of OmniGraffle 2.0, the latest major release of its symbolic drawing program developed specifically for Mac OS X. The new version can be downloaded as a free trial from The Omni Group’s Web site now.

OmniGraffle 2.0 adds support for layers, new drawing tools and modes, embedded hyperlinks and more Web export options, AppleScript support, editable “magnets” on shapes, a faster and more advanced layout panel, and new object palettes. The Omni Group also said that performance has been improved and bugs have been fixed from the previous release.
OmniGraffle 2.0 is being offered as a free upgrade to registered users of OmniGraffle 1.0. The software requires Mac OS X 10.1.3.
OmniGraffle can be used for free as OmniGraffle viewer, but if you want to use it to create your own drawings, you’ll need to buy a license. Licenses cost US$59.95 per seat.
