Strata DVpro 5.0 will purportedly be coming soon from Strata, the folks who specialize in desktop digital video editing tools. It’s described as the “professional-level successor application to VideoShop 4.5.”

The update, for both Mac and Windows platforms, will be positioned as a professional-level desktop digital video editing and compression application that’s “perfect for Macromedia Flash designers and developers, according to Strata. Strata DVpro is the first NLE to include compression technology using the Sorenson’s Spark codec.
With Macromedia Flash MX and Macromedia Flash Player 6, Strata DVpro users can incorporate video into their rich Internet applications without launching external players, which provides a better user experience, according to Strata. A release date, system requirements and pricing for DVpro 5.0 haven’t been nailed down yet by Strata.
