Roxio Inc. today announced the release of Toast with Jam. Toast is, of course, the company’s hugely popular Mac CD mastering software; Jam adds professional audio capabilities to the package. Together, Toast with Jam costs US$199 and is available from Roxio or through leading retailers. And an upgrade for existing Toast 5 Titanium users is also available.

Toast with Jam combines Toast 5 Titanium, Jam 5 and BIAS Peak LE VST sound editing software. Jam 5 incorporates advanced features like crossfade using a graphics waveform interface, a dithering feature that helps correct distortion during audio file processing and conversion, and native support for 24-bit audio. Like its CD burning counterpart, Jam 5 has been updated for Mac OS X and sports an updated Aqua interface. BIAS Peak LE VST also includes multiple VST plug-ins to customize arrangements with special audio effects.
Roxio chief operations officer Tom Shea noted that Toast with Jam supports both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, thus making it suited to a wide breadth of Mac users who want to do more with their music.
“Toast with Jam provides a rich yet affordable solution that enables Macintosh users to create truly customized, professional audio CDs, while they also enjoy the benefits of Toast 5 Titanium for full spectrum CD and DVD recording,” said Shea.
