Microsoft has released a revised IntelliPoint driver for Mac OS X. Still listed as version 2.1.0, the re-released IntelliPoint software makes a couple of fundamental changes.

This revised release of the IntelliPoint 2.1.0 software corrects a problem that some users noted caused the software to invoke the Classic control panel instead of the Mac OS X-native version, if both were installed.
An un-installer is now included, as well, to make easier the removal of the IntelliPoint software (which installs as Microsoft Mouse).
Late last week, Microsoft first released IntelliPoint software for Microsoft-branded mice. The driver software installs as a pane in the System Preferences control panel and enables Mac users to program the buttons and scrollwheel on their Microsoft mice and trackballs with both global and application-specific settings.
