procreate — the branch of Corel that makes software apps for creative professionals such as the Corel Graphics Suite, Bryce, and Painter — is sponsoring the Spring 2002 Maitri Art Sale, a nine day event held April 5-14 at One Embarcadero Center, San Francisco, in support of AIDS awareness and Maitri, a Bay-area residence for people living with AIDS.

The sale will feature works of art created by more than 150 Bay-area artists and art students. procreate reps will be on hand, offering digital art demonstrations presented by Brad Tompkins, central director of technology for the Art Institutes, one of the United States’ premiere design and media arts education institutions.
The Maitri Art Sale will open to the public with an opening night reception on Friday, April 5 from 5-10 pm. Artists will be on hand to talk with patrons about their art that includes photography, paintings and sculpture. procreate digital art demonstrations will take place throughout the show. The sale will be open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, and admission is free.
