Yesterday we reported that direct marketer PC Mall, the folks behind MacMall, had acquired “substantially all” of the assets of Pacific Business Systems (PBS), a privately held direct marketer of computer products and the folks behind the ClubMac brand. However, the ClubMac brand won’t be assimilated into the MacMall brand, Mike McNeill, former President of PBS/ClubMac and now general manager of the ClubMac Division of PC Mall, told MacCentral.

“ClubMac will continue as a division of PC Mall,” he said. “We have our own dedicated following of customers, who appreciate the way we do business, and we want to continue to support them the way they are accustomed. The same sales people, the same products, the same service levels they are used to. We will still publish catalogs, still have a Website and still support the Mac community (both vendors and customers).”
What will differentiate the two brands is primarily their people and the relationships with their vendors and customers, McNeil said. “It’s important that our customers know that things should only get better since we can use the resources of a much larger company to help them with their needs,” he added.
