DigitalFilm Tree — a company that specializes in professional Final Cut Pro training, services and support — has been named the first (and only) training center authorized by the Motion Picture Editors Guild for Apple’s Final Cut Pro high-end videography solution, according to Tim Serda of DigitalFilm Tree.

The 2002 West Coast Training Program is now operational and has been greatly expanded, he added. By combining two funding sources, the Motion Picture Editors Guild is able to offer members a completely subsidized program with a total budget of US$450,000 — for this year only. This is double the amount previously available.
The program is funded by an H-1B Entertainment Grant in conjunction with the Contract Services Administration Training Trust Fund, Serda explained. For details go to the Editors Guild Web site. There is also a list of DigitalFilm Tree classes online.
