After their launch of Director’s Cut “Take 2” in late 2001, Miglia Technology has acquired the intellectual property and sole rights to Power•R’s Director’s Cut analogue/digital video converter.

Director’s Cut is a Mac compatible PAL/NTSC analogue to digital video (and reverse) converter. It doesn’t require any drivers for use. The system, which hasn’t yet made it to the Americas, simply “sees” a DV (digital video) camera and is ready to receive a video signal from whatever source.
“Miglia Technology did such a great job with their Take 2 product that it was a logical move for us to sell the IP and global rights to the product,” James Baker of PowerR said. “We will continue to offer our other products to customers, but effective immediately Miglia will deal with all sales and technical enquiries for Director’s Cut.”
The original Director’s Cut (Take 1), as sold by Power•R, will still be available through Miglia Technology’s distribution channel, alongside its Director’s Cut Take 2. Both products are now manufactured in the United Kingdom and further development of the products are expected. The warranty on new products sold is now extended to two years and Miglia Technology will provide free technical support to any user of Power•R’s Director’s Cut and will honor the warranty issued when the product was first purchased.
It’s compatible with any FireWire enabled Mac running Mac OS 9.x or Mac OS X. A PCI version that ships with an approved FireWire 1394 PCI card is also available for computer users who don’t already have onboard FireWire connectivity.
