iGetter is a download utility that sports functions such as resuming broken downloads, segmented (accelerated) downloading, Internet browsers integration, queue filtering by various criteria, file mirrors support for additional acceleration, cookies support, processing Web page links, scheduling downloads for low traffic periods, reconnecting modems, hanging up and shutting down when the downloads are done. Version 1.8 boasts a new Speed Limit function that lets you download files with iGetter and still use your Web browser without loss of performance, according to MacTech magazine .
There’s also a tweaked interface in the Mac OS X version. And iGetter for Mac OS X now shows the average download speed on the Dock icon. What’s more, with the new operating system, you can control iGetter while it’s hidden with the Dock control menu.
iGetter 1.8 is a US$26 shareware product (a desktop-mobile two-license pack is $35). Site licenses are also available. You can download iGetter or a demo version at the product Web site.
