Over 7.5 million units of FileMaker database software have been shipped by the folks at FileMaker, Inc., according to Dominique Goupil, company president. And shipments of the FileMaker 5.5 product line, introduced less than a year ago, have topped 750,000. FileMaker is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple.
The FileMaker 5.5 line runs on more devices and platforms than ever, including Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Windows XP/2000, Linux (FileMaker Server only), Citrix MetaFrame, Palm OS, and i-mode for smart phones in Japan. What’s more, FileMaker plans to extend its mobile database software to run on Pocket PC handhelds this year, Goupil said.
