NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America Inc. today introduced the new NEC MultiSync Flat Enterprise Series — a new line of CRT monitors. The new line consists of several new models equipped with the SuperBright Diamondtron flat aperture grille technology, along with a ClearFlat shadow mask on several of the models that helps to reduce glare and distortion.

The line consists of several new 17-inch displays: the NEC MultiSync FE770, FE770 M, FE771 SB and FE791 SB models. Two new 19-inch displays have also been introduced: the FE990 and FE991 SB. A 21-inch FE2111 SB rounds out the new offerings. Each display is offered either with a brushed aluminum bezel or black cabinet option.
The NEC MultiSync FE771 SB, FE791 SB, FE991 SB and, FE2111 SB monitors all incorporate the company’s patented SuperBright Diamondtron flat aperture grille CRT. NEC-Mitsubishi explained that the SuperBright CRT is twice as bright as previous CRTs. The technology also provides improved focus, more uniform brightness and superior color saturation.
The FE770, FE770 M and FE990 displays all incorporate ClearFlat shadow mask technology. This CRT technology offers a flat screen that produces less glare and reflection than conventional curved-screen CRT monitors. NEC-Mitsubishi said this helps to reduce eyestrain.
The NEC MultiSync FE770, FE770M, FE771 SB, FE791 SB and FE991 SB are available now. The FE990 and FE2111 SB will be available in June.
