Today at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference and exhibition in Las Vegas, Anystream, a provider of software for automating the production and distribution of streaming media, has announced additional configurations for its modular Agility Enterprise product specifically designed for live Webcasting applications.
Corporations, producers, and service providers using audio/video or audio-only live webcasting can now deploy the live Webcasting software platform for US $8,000 and up. The Agility Enterprise encoding platform is, according to Anystream, the world’s first enterprise-class platform for streaming media production and distribution. It’s used to rapidly distribute the streaming media to some of the most popular sites on the Internet and includes live Webcasting. Fault-tolerant and scalable, the Enterprise platform is designed to deliver a single, constant view of streaming media production.
The Agility Enterprise live-only configuration enables clients to Webcast several different concurrent live events through its support of multiple capture cards. From a single server each event can be Webcast in multiple formats — including QuickTime, RealNetworks’ RealSystem, and Microsoft Windows Media — and concurrently acquired, preprocessed, watermarked, encoded and archived, according to Geoff Allen, president and CEO of Anystream. Unlike other proprietary, hardware-based live webcasting solutions, Agility’s scalable, modular software design has a single application interface for all media formats, and allows customers to add features and capacity as required, he added.
The system can also be extended with the capabilities for on-demand encoding, including additional formats such as MP3, WAV, MPEG-4, MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 for archiving and repurposing applications. In addition to the new live- and audio-only configurations, the Agility product line features several entry-level configurations, a client migration path for adding features and processing capabilities, and a software development kit for extending Agility command and control to other mission- critical software platforms and applications.
