Helsinki, Finland-based Iceblink Software has announced the release of [info]Batcher Classic, a software application which can be used to manipulate large numbers of files simultaneously. The software is currently compatible with “Classic” Mac OS versions, but the company indicated an OS X version is on the way.
With [info]Batcher Classic, you can scan through folders and subfolders and change attributes to files, including Type/Creator info, Visibility, Locked status, Label, Comment and more. It can also erase custom icons, and renames files in a sequential order. Changes can be applied to individual files, folders, and subfolders at unlimited depth, according to the developer.
[info]Batcher Classic sports a filter system which enables you to apply changes only to specific files. An Undo feature is also included, enabling you to restore files to their original condition before being manipulated by the application.
Iceblink founder Teemu Karkkainen describes [info]Batcher as a time saver for people who value their time. “It does things that ought to be done automatically, not manually, but what the MacOS can’t do by itself.”
The software works on Mac OS 8.1 through 9.x. It costs US$19.90 to register.
