Grass Roots Software is bringing Prologue Sunday Plus to the Mac. Formerly Windows only multimedia product, the software lets you control the projection of songs, images, movies and other digital media.
Its dual-screen system provides an operator’s monitor for preview of the presentation. Tom Marron of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel, Connecticut, says that Prologue Sunday Plus can be used in place of PowerPoint to display announcements, song lyrics, and sermon outlines/notes, as well as QuickTime/MPEG movie
Prologue Sunday Plus lets you play QuickTime, QuickTimeVR, DV, MPEG or AVI movie files. You can open any song or text file for complete view of verses, chorus, etc. The software lets you play Flash animations, display text with video, access hundreds of transitions on-the-fly, create a continuous message loop and more.
Prices range from US$349 to $599, depending on which Bible software package you get. The site license permits installation on multiple machines at no additional charge.
To use Prologue Sunday, you’ll need at least a Power Mac G3/400, 256MB RAM, 100MB of free disk space, Mac OS 9.1, and two video cards (or a single dual-head card). The recommended setup is a G4 Mac, 384MB RAM, 100MB of available disk space, a two-button mouse, Mac OS 9.1, two video cards (or a single dual-head card) with video card #2 sporting at least 16MB of RAM.
“While it is not a Mac OS X app, yet this is very good software worth running Mac OS 9 for,” Marron said. “Anyone looking for great church presentation software should look at Prologue Sunday Plus, especially on the Mac.”
