At this week’s IPEX 2002 print-publishing trade show being held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England, FujiFilm UK announced Colourkit 3.0, a new version of its color-management software for Mac OS X at this week’s, according to Macworld UK.
ColourKit 3.0 uses Fujifilm’s patented sharpness-profiling system, which automatically calculates and applies sharpening to an image once the final retouching, resizing, and output-processes have been determined. This version offers better control over the edit palettes than before, and users can switch between color spaces, according to Macworld UK.
The Mac OS X-native version of ColourKit 3.0, due in May, incorporates such new features as color-modelling algorithms. Updates will be posted online. What’s more, Fujifilm also announced plans to add FireWire connectivity to some of its professional scanners, including the FineScan 2750 flatbed scanner, according to Macworld UK.
