Are you a professional musician? If you’d like to use your Mac to help your gigs run a bit more smoothly, you might want to take a look at Sweetwater Sound’s release today of SetMaker 2.0. The software enables musicians to create and manage set lists. SetMaker 2.0 includes the ability to store song titles, keys, styles, tempos, lengths and more. The software runs in Mac OS 9 and X, as well as Windows. Best of all, it’s free.
Sweetwater founder and owner Chuck Surack called the response “overwhelming” to the original release of SetMaker last December. “Since then, we’ve heard from a lot of musicians who were asking for more features. SetMaker 2.0 includes many of those features plus some extra goodies.”
New features in SetMaker 2.0 include:
SetMaker 2.0 isn’t just for pro musicians — if you’re a worship leader DJ, or music director, SetMaker can come in handy to help you organize your songs and pick the best songs for your performances.
The software is divided into two principal parts: the Song Manager, which is where the database or song list information is kept. The Set List Creator enables you to quickly select songs from your database, generate the Set List itself, then print out a compact and clean-looking list of songs. You can create as many sets as you like.
Sweetwater Sound is the same Fort Wayne, In.-based company that sells MIDI and professional audio hardware, retail software and much more.
