Our colleagues at Macworld Sweden report that Apple Nordic and a Swedish reseller called Macoteket have entered into an unusual marketing campaign apparently aimed squarely at PC-dominated companies: Apple Nordic and Macoteket are offering to let interested companies try a Mac free for a week.
The promotion enables qualified companies access to one of three different systems, according to Macworld Sweden: an 800MHz flat panel iMac, a PowerBook G4 running at 667MHz, or a dual-processor 1GHz Power Mac G4. The systems come with Mac OS X, Adobe Photoshop 7 and InDesign 2, Microsoft Office v. X, Connectix Virtual PC 5, and Netopia Timbuktu 6 pre-installed, along with Apple’s own suite of software applications.
Macworld Sweden reports that after the one week trial period, companies that decide to replace their Windows-equipped PC with a Mac will get a rebate of 800 SEK (about US$80) excluding VAT on the purchase price.
The publication was unable to reach Apple Nordic for comment on the promotion.
