If you want to make sure that your document arrives at its destination the same way it was sent, you might be interested in Smile Software’s first product: Page Sender. It’s a Mac OS X application that enables you to “send any document you can print” as an e-mail or eFax.
Page Sender utilizes Portable Document Format (PDF) to manage its documents. The software presents you with an “envelope” which appears when you print. You fill in the destination info, then click on print, and Page Sender sends the document on its way, either by e-mail or eFax service — readable to anyone who uses PDF software on Mac OS, Windows or Linux.
Author Greg Scown said his application simplifies the power of Mac OS X for users. “Without Mac OS X’s PDF-based printing architecture, stunning user interface, and robust AppleScript support, Page Sender would not have been possible. It has never been easier to send documents than with Page Sender and Mac OS X,” he added.
Page Sender requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later (10.1.3 or later recommended). You can send from any Mac OS X application (Classic and Mac OS 9 apps are not supported). Drag & Drop support is also available for addresses from Address book, Claris E-mailer, Eudora, Microsoft Entourage and Outlook Express, Palm Desktop, PowerMail and raw vCard files.
Page Sender costs US$19.95. Site licenses and multi-license discounts are available.
