Viewpoint Corp. today announced its ZoomView/Adobe Photoshop 7.0 partner portal. The new portal is an online resource center for publishing and deploying ZoomView content, enabling Photoshop 7.0 users with the ability to save photo files in the ZoomView format, as well as license the technology.
Viewpoint bills ZoomView as a serverless “pixels-on-demand” image transmission technology that enables users to deploy large, print-quality images online. Users can pan, zoom in and examine fine details without needing high-speed Internet access or special video cards, according to the developer.
Adobe Photoshop director of product management Kevin Connor called the new portal a “simple, clear path” for users of Photoshop who want to publish their high-res digital images. “The portal gives our extensive user base access to all the resources they need to get ZoomView on their own Web sites and even their customer’s Web sites,” he added.
The portal enables Photoshop 7.0 users to create and batch process ZoomView images, and also provides ways for customers to purchase licenses for their own Web sites. Additional options are offered for deployment of services like ZoomView Hosted Solutions (ZVHS), which rolls creation, licensing and hosting of ZoomView content into an ASP service.
