BusinessWeek Online recently posted the results of an online poll in which more than 4,500 respondents gave their opinions on Apple CEO Steve Jobs. A synopsis of those results is available in a new article entitled Grading Steve Jobs.
Overall, the publication concluded that the charismatic and mercurial head of Apple “could hardly be more highly regarded” by the folks who took the poll. 80 percent ranked his product innovation skills as “excellent,” while 17 percent of the remaining bunch ranked those skills as “very good.” Likewise, a whopping 88 percent of respondents call his CEO skills “excellent” with 9 percent giving him an overall thumbs up, too. What’s more, 79 percent feel that Jobs can lead Apple back to “its former glory,” as BusinessWeek Online put it, with double-digit marketshare.
However, the one downside is that many polled feel that Apple wouldn’t continue to do well without Jobs. “Which implies that he still has one more important product to develop in the decade or two before he steps down for good: A worthy successor,” BusinessWeek Online said.
