Dantz Development Corp. announced the release of the Dantz Retrospect Backup 5.0.205 updater. Anyone who purchased the software directly from the Dantz Web site after 6:30PM PT last night already has this build, but if you have an older copy, have at it.
According to Dantz, the new version of Retrospect sports a fix for a problem scanning icons and privileges of files with names longer than 31 characters. “An unusually large” Retro.icons file would be created as a result. The new build of Retrospect Desktop, Workgroup, and Server Backup 5.0 can be downloaded from Dantz’s FTP site. [.SIT, 4.15MB]
The company also corrected an issue with Retrospect Express that would cause the software to mistakenly display an error message following autolaunch, or when launching the application by double-clicking a run document. The software would report that the automatic execution failed due to a power failure or system crash. The new build of Retrospect Express Backup 5.0.205 can also be downloaded from Dantz’s FTP server. [.SIT, 3.6MB]
The company also indicated than an update should be available soon for Symantec Norton SystemWorks 2.0 users. Keep your eyes peeled on the Dantz Web site for details.
