Dantz Development Corp. announced the release of the Dantz Retrospect Backup 5.0.205 updater. Anyone who purchased the software directly from the Dantz Web site after 6:30PM PT last night already has this build, but if you have an older copy, have at it.
According to Dantz, the new version of Retrospect sports a fix for a problem scanning icons and privileges of files with names longer than 31 characters. “An unusually large” Retro.icons file would be created as a result. The new build of Retrospect Desktop, Workgroup, and Server Backup 5.0 can be downloaded from
Dantz’s FTP site.
The company also corrected an issue with Retrospect Express that would cause the software to mistakenly display an error message following autolaunch, or when launching the application by double-clicking a run document. The software would report that the automatic execution failed due to a power failure or system crash. The new build of Retrospect Express Backup 5.0.205 can also be downloaded from Dantz’s
