Panergy has announced the release of icWord version 2.1, this time for Mac OS X. The software enables you to access any Microsoft Word and AppleWorks files.
icWord 2.1 provides you with the ability to open, convert, view, print and export files using RTF (Rich Text Format). The software purportedly offers full support for inline graphics, tables, footnotes, colors and page attributes. New keyboard shortcuts help to simplify navigation, also.
Panergy CEO and founder Daniel Pohoryles explained that you don’t need to go through file conversions or change file settings to view Word and AppleWorks files if you have icWord installed. “Microsoft Word and AppleWorks users don’t need to upgrade their software just to open the occasional file,” he said.
The software also implements double-byte language support to assist Chinese, Korean and Japanese users. The Japanese release, version 2.1j, will soon be released, according to the company.
icWord 2.1 is available for download from the Web site and costs US$19.95.
