Digital FireworX for Mac OS X has been released by SkyRockets Multimedia. It’s a computer generated fireworks simulation that uses real digitized fireworks sounds for enhanced realism.
Digital FireworX are fully rendered 3D particle animations created to simulate fireworks. Each firework piece is self-contained in its own file, so you can think of it as a plug-in.
“With Digital FireworX you can fire off fountains, gerbs, cones, firecrackers, mortars and rockets, loaded directly from the virtual ‘FireworX Stand’,” said Michael Briscoe of Digital FireworX. “You can also import your own background art, or photo and MP3 music files. You can drag and drop FireworX to the staging area and sync them to time, or music, to create your own FireworX shows.”
The fireworks simulator is expandable, so new FireworX modules are on the way. Digital FireworX has been completely rewritten from the ground up to take advantage of Mac OS X, Brisco said.
Digital FireworX is Shareware. You may download and try it out for free. Registration is US$15 and will get you a link to download the entire Digital FireworX package that includes 36 FireworX modules in all and access to new modules as they become available.
