Stone Design has released new versions of all seven applications included in Stone Studio, its flagship suite of applications designed from the ground up in Cocoa to take advantage of Mac OS X.
Stone Design has added Danish and Dutch to the list of languages built into Stone Studio. Upgrading to this version is free for all current users and downloadable from the Stone Studio Web site. Plus, all seven of the applications have a new menu item under the application name, “Check for Updates.” It allows real-time checking to see if you have the latest version of the Stone Studio, and directs you to the Stone Design download site if you do not.
So what’s new in Stone Studio? Create — the drawing, page layout and Web page authoring application — now sports Text Styles, which lets you visually encapsulate styles that can be then applied to text,. When updated, you can update all the text in the document with that style.
SliceAndDice — which lets you create navigation bars, JavaScript rollovers, image maps and complicated mosaic tilings from any image — now lets you zoom in on your image, and you can display the dividers in another color by holding down the Control key while selecting. Hyphenation is now available on a per document basis in all apps, including PhotoToWeb, PStill, PackUpAndGo, TimeEqualsMoney and GIFfun.
Stone Studio is available online at the Stone Store or at any of the Apple Stores. The price is still discounted to US$299 for the entire suite through May 31, 2002. Or you can buy each app separately.
