Tribeworks, creators of multimedia authoring tools, has delivered a Preview Release of iShell 3 for Mac OS X.
iShell is a QuickTime-native multimedia authoring suite that enables the creation of customized media players that launch from a Web site. Besides Mac OS X support, version 3 adds a drag and drop Timeline Editor with support for animation. It also incorporates leading XML support; W3C compliance (DOM, Xpath, SAX); Unicode support; and various user interface enhancements.
“Mac OS X is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for digital content creators,” said Duncan Kennedy, Tribeworks’ CEO, in announcing the Preview Release. “iShell 3 is the first industrial strength multimedia authoring tool to take full advantage of Apple’s new operating system down at the DNA level. To take full advantage of Apple’s Mac OSX and optimize performance, iShell goes beyond the Carbon layer of OSX and also utilizes Mach, the underlying Unix implementation of the Macintosh operating system.”
The release is going out to the company’s exclusive Gold Member Community for review starting today. Based on customer feedback the final version of iShell 3 is expected to be released this summer.
