The folks at MacSpeech, the Mac-only speech recognition gurus, have announced iListen for eMac at a special education price of US$99 — a savings of more than 30 percent. The bundle is available exclusively to eMac users directly from MacSpeech.
The eMac is Apple’s new all-in-computer for the education market. See Monday’s article for details.
“We are pleased to support Apple’s Education market with our eMac offer,” said MacSpeechs’ Donald MacCormick. “It will bring Speech Recognition into the classroom where it can be of enormous benefit to educators and pupils.”
The iListen speech recognition software has “TalkAnywhere” technology, which lets you dictate into virtually any Mac application. It translates speech to typed text and characters anywhere you would normally type. iListen is speaker dependent, meaning you have to spend some time “training” iListen to the unique cadence and timbre of your voice. However, it can handle multiple users, each with their own speech files.
