Apple today posted a new promotion offering users a discounted price on a new bundle that includes Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro.
Dubbed, “Finish your movie under budget,” the new promotion allows users to save US$300 upon purchase of the two qualifying products. In order to receive the money back from Apple you must fill out a mail-in rebate and send it to the company.
The promotion runs through May 31, 2002.
DVD Studio Pro 1.5 is the latest major release of Apple’s professional-level DVD mastering software for the Macintosh. Unlike iDVD 2, Apple’s consumer solution, DVD Studio Pro sports features and functionality that enable Mac users to create a DVDs chock-full of the same sort of details and sophisticated interface and design elements that you find today in professionally produced commercial DVDs on video store shelves.
Released in December, Final Cut Pro 3 utilizes the Velocity Engine to deliver G4 real-time effects — the first dual-stream, real-time architecture with no add-in hardware requirements. Final Cut Pro also features OfflineRT, which provides 40 minutes of video per gigabyte of hard drive space and a new set of professional color correction tools, including primary and secondary color correctors, range checking, zebra-stripe overlays, and waveform and vectorscope monitors, as well as a set of controls to maintain broadcast-safe video levels.
More information on this bundle can be found from Apple’s Macintosh Products Guide Web site.
