REALVIZ, a developer of image based creation software, has released REALVIZ SceneWeaver for Mac OS X. SceneWeaver creates true 3D environments from stills or panoramic photos.
It can also be used to create object hierarchies for delivery to Macromedia Director/Shockwave and interactive Web formats. REALVIZ SceneWeaver lets users import objects and 3D models, then place them in 3D space for fast content assembly. You can create object hierarchies for improved object control in interactive applications and deliver interactive results, using a library of pre-defined behaviors in Macromedia Shockwave, according to Patrick Dumas, REALVIZ CEO.
He said it also lets you animate objects quickly; stack objects, create primitives, and detect object collisions for accurate results; automatically extract textures from any background component; create vertical polygonal masks for complex scene construction; export projects to Shockwave 3D and VRML for optimum Web delivery; and exchange data with other REALVIZ applications thanks to the new RZML format.
REALVIZ SceneWeaver is available for both Mac and Windows platforms for US$350, for a limited time. After June 15, it will be $499. SceneWeaver is available for purchase as part of the REALVIZ Interactive Studio suite, which provides a solution for building interactive 3D applications for Shockwave and VRML. The studio package combines REALVIZ ImageModeler 3, REALVIZ Stitcher 3 and REALVIZ SceneWeaver and costs US$1,499.00 until June 15. After this it will have a list price of $1995.
