Handmark is shipping MobileLists, a solution for creating, viewing and editing data from Microsoft Access, FileMaker and Excel. A bundle of handheld and desktop applications and plug-ins, it runs on both Palm OS-based devices and Pocket PC handhelds.
The plug-ins are designed for the Mac versions of Excel and FileMaker, as well as for Windows versions of Excel and Access. With MobileLists you can now take membership lists, conference attendees, team rosters and other data with you, according to Handmark Marketing Vice President Douglas Edwards. The handheld application simplifies the ability to switch between table views and record at a time views of data lists entries, he said. With support for multiple data types, you can create new lists and data entry screens directly on the PDA and export back to any of the supported desktop applications.
MobileLists also simplifies the process of selectively adding data from a list to the built-in calendar application, Edwards said. This feature lets users selectively choose data entries that need to be referenced as both a single list and in the daily calendar of PDA users, he added.
The product is available now on CD-ROM for US$49.99. The MobileLists bundle is also available as an online download from the Handmark Web site.
