Neon Software has announced the release of NetMinder Ethernet 5.0, a new update to their network protocol analyzer and traffic monitor.
NetMinder Ethernet is a network security tool intended for Mac-centric IT managers or system administrators who have a need to analyze information traveling on their networks. The software enables you to pinpoint the source of potential and actual problems, receive security-related alerts, detect conflicts and monitor bottlenecks in network traffic.
New features in version 5.0 include native OS X support, customizable security alerts, IP traffic filters, wireless network analysis, expanded library of packet decodes, tcpdump standard file format support and a redesigned user interface.
The software’s security features are based on Neon Software’s Packet Inference system. Packet Inference can detect security risks like port scans, denial of service attempts, duplicate IP addresses and worms like Code Red.
NetMinder Ethernet 5.0 carries a suggested retail price of US$795. Upgrades cost $199.
