Power On Software has updated Now Up-to-Date & Contact, their scheduler and contact manager, to version 4.2.1, implementing a new menu technology and “Grab-‘n-Go.”
The update supports the system menus in Mac OS X. The new menu technology improves Power On’s popular QuickDay and QuickContact applications, which allow you to schedule events and receive reminders even if you haven’t launched the application. The latest version allows you to click and drag the QuickDay and QuickContact icons in the menu bar and move them to your favorite position. They can even be removed from the menu bar if you want, while maintaining the ability to use them from the Dock.
Grab-‘n-Go lets you turn virtually any text into an action item, such as an appointment, task, or note. This functionality is available in virtually any application that supports contextual menus, so a user can select text in a browser, or an email message from their favorite e-mail program, and set a reminder to follow up with just a mouse click, according to Bob Leeds, Power On’s vice president of Business Development & Communications. With Grab-‘n-Go, you have the flexibility to mix and match your favorite applications while maintaining a degree of integration that meets or exceeds what is normally anticipated in application suites, he added.
Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.2.1 also adds the ability to locate the Now Up-to-Date & Contact application folder outside of the Mac OS X Applications folder without affecting performance. And, of course, it includes the new native Mac OS X Palm synchronization introduced in version 4.2.
Now Up-to-Date & Contact Version 4.2.1 has a suggested retail price of US$129.95, with electronic downloads available for $119.95. Upgrades from earlier versions of Now Up-to-Date & Contact are $49.95. Registered owners of version 4.0 or later may obtain an electronic upgrade for free.
