Apple has released a QuickTime video of the Xserve introduction staged yesterday at the company’s Cupertino, Calif. headquarters.
Xserve is Apple’s new entry into the server market — it’s a powerful single or dual-processor rack mount server running Mac OS X. Xserve only takes up 1U (or about 1.75 inches) of space in a standard 19-inch equipment rack.
Mac enthusiasts not already versed in the Xserve’s specs and details can see it all firsthand via the QuickTime stream, and will undoubtedly get some remaining questions answered — including the oft-posted query, “How is Xserve pronounced?” (We won’t ruin it for you — cue up the QuickTime stream yourself to find out for sure.)
